Here's some frequently asked questions answered to help get to know us better.
What handling methods do you use?
Here at Leashly we are a service for the individual dog. All services are designed to be completed using force & fear free methods. We use treats, toys and praise to achieve a successful service. All adventure agility and other challenges are offered to each dog and its their choice to participate. We do not use any for of correction.
Are you insured?
Yes! We are insured with ProFur!
How does my dog get to the services?
All of our services include Pick Up and Drop Off. All handlers have their up to date criminal record checks. We can either choreograph a pick up or us your key/ keypad.
Can my intact dog join?
Yes, however services will be modified in group activities. On leash and mini groups can be filled with intact dogs. We do not walk in heat females with any other dog.
When can my puppy join?
Puppies are able to attend our services at 10 weeks of age and up to date on their yearly immunizations. Puppies less than 16 weeks require their second dose of DA2PP. Puppies older than 16 weeks require DA2PP and Rabies. Puppy services consider the developmental stages of each puppy. prioritizing confidence building and safe socialization.
What equipment do you use?
Services are completed with a 10 ft - 50 ft long line. All dogs must be in a harness we will provide a properly fitted harness if the owner does not have one. We do not use any e-collars, prong collars, martingale collars or any other training tool. To keep strange dogs away and avoid any meetups we use Pet Corrector to deter them away (can of compressed air). To achieve desired behaviours we use single ingredient treats, toys and praise.
